Taking care of your tie

All Cataclistum neckties are carefully constructed with a painstaking attention to detail. As such, we are confident that, if you take care of your necktie, it will stand the test of time. This section will provide you with the guidance you need to look after your Cataclistum piece in order to preserve its elegance.

Fabric

Cataclistum neckties are crafted with 100% pure silk fabric and should be handled carefully to ensure longevity.

Exposing your tie to direct sunlight should be avoided, as long bursts of sun rays can cause discolouration and damage the silk threads.

If you happen to blemish the fabric, please do not attempt to wash your neck tie at home. We recommend that you get in touch with the highest quality dry cleaning service you have available to you and ask them to spot clean the blemish. You should avoid the standard dry cleaning process as much as possible, as the chemicals used are likely to have a negative effect on the silk fibres and could cause irreparable damage.

Wearing your Cataclistum necktie could cause the fabric to wrinkle. If your piece needs ironing or steaming, please ensure that this is handled by a professional so that the three-dimensional nature of your tie can be preserved.

If you feel like your Cataclistum necktie could use a little bit of professional care and attention, please consider our restoration services. We can evaluate the best approach to refresh your tie, dismantle necessary parts of your piece, and work with our dry-cleaning partners to achieve the best results. We can also steam your tie back into its original shape or completely replace the fabric if needed.

Nexus

Exposing your Nexus piece to soaps, cosmetics, or perfumes should be avoided, as these substances could irreversibly damage the finishes applied to the surface of your Nexus. Please make sure that you put on your Cataclistum tie only after creams and perfumes have dried completely on your skin.

Lengthy exposure to sunlight should also be avoided as it could cause discoloration.

If needed, the Nexus and the titanium base can be cleaned with a clean, soft and dry microfiber cloth. To avoid damaging the Nexus or the silk fabric, please do not use solvents.

Storing Your Tie

It’s best to store your Nexus tie hanging, using our signature hanger.
If you own a Classic tie, we recommend that you store it hung up for at least two days after use to let the creases and folds from a knot to fall out. After that, you could gently roll it up, or you could leave it hanging in your wardrobe.
